Usui Reiki

Since the introduction of Reiki by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s, many other branches of Reiki have sprung up.

And although they are all branches of the same tree some have become …….”well let’s say hybrids”.

Innovation is a great thing, but all gifted innovators have a solid grounding in the basics of the subject they come to innovate.

That is why we must start our Reiki journey from source, or as close to source as we can get.

Usui Reiki as Taught by Dr. Usui, and then Dr. Chujiro Hayashi Dr. Chujiro Hayashi and then Mrs. Takata……. is as close to the source of Reiki as we can get.

The difficulty with the purity of information is simply one of absence of recorded data. Reiki was passes on largely by word of mouth for master to student until very recently, and by that time the many branches had already began to grow, somewhat obscuring the tree from which they grew.

More Reiki Symbols were introduced and new levels of Reiki Attunement were also thought up and introduced.

Some people are even trying to Regulate Reiki under the misguided assumption that it is dangerous in the wrong hands.

Basic Usui Reiki

It can be determined that the basic Usui System of Reiki had 4 Reiki Symbols and 3 levels of Reiki Attunement ……and that’s what I am teaching here as a starting point.

I recommend that you become very familier with the above before you start to walk or climb along any of the other branches which have grown in the past 70 years or so.

In doing that you will have a benchmark.

And a benchmark is all important in assessing the relevance of information and practice.
